2010 IJHL Hockey Showcase
The Berlin Maroons Directors would like to express their appreciation to the entire IJHL staff, the IJHL players, the coaches, the players’ families that traveled from as far as Russia, California, Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maine, Vermont and Canada, the Berlin fans and the Notre Dame Arena staff and Board of Directors. A special thank you to the local businesses who purchased an ad in the weekend program and the supportive sponsors; Steve and Sue at IGA, Coca-Cola Lakes Region, Steve and Penny at Valley Creek, Ray’s Electric, Androscoggin Valley Hospital, Isaacson Structural Steel and the Town and Country Motor Inn.
The following people made our showcase possible. Key people: incoming Mayor Paul Grenier, opening ceremonies; Mayor Dave Bertrand, announcer; Tess Letarte, National Anthem; and Patty Couture, medical person. Our announcers, score keepers, and clock attendants: Diane Lambert, Maurice Delisle, Scott Valliere, CJ Moreau, Britney Roy and Bronte Dandeneau. Steve Hallee, Joe Dupuis, Gary Riendeau, Marc Tremblay provided special duties, Leo Robichaud tended the penalty box, Brenda Boucher, program specialist and Lisa Riendeau, Meredith Riendeau and Andrea Dupont for manning the door and ticket sales.
Charlie Neilson, IJHL League Commissioner, reported, “That there is no better place than Berlin to play hockey. We love coming to Berlin and hope that Berlin will succeed in getting a team to the IJHL in the near future. The people here are great and a team would have a following of supportive fans. It would be good for the city and the community. It would add recreation and provide great hockey culture to the area. The Community College is an excellent source of education for the players”.
The Berlin Jr Maroons Directors will once again strive to provide a high quality program to young hockey players. Players will be recruited internationally, nationally and locally. The focus will be on the education and the development of the total player. If you would like more information, please contact us.
Thank you for your help and support.
Yours in Hockey,
Russell Couture
